An Internet package embedded in the phone helps update the postman about delivery of bar-code mails, such as registries, speed post and money order. Delivery of normal mail, in which there is no bar code, can not be tracked.

Haldwani: Haldwani and Dehradun Postmen Postal Delivery Online India Post has got a smartphone track to monitor the move, using the technology to improve existing services.

Uttarakhand Post Services Director VK Singh said that this project covers only urban centers of Haldwani and Dehradun due to better internet connectivity.

Smartphones have been given to the postmen of two urban city centers, who work on Android systems.

An Internet package embedded in the phone helps update the postman about delivery of bar-code mails, such as registries, speed post and money order. Delivery of normal mail, in which there is no bar code, can not be tracked.

Under the project, using the Postman smartphone, download an app called 'Postman'. The app created by the Department of Posts is connected to the central server and the delivery details are fed into it.

"This application is convenient for us because delivery is updated online; Haldwani's postman Ram Singh Rotala (53) said," We do not have to stay in the office till late night to get information on delivery.
"In the event of a loss of connectivity, the information is later feared after connectivity is restored."
The smartphone which Lakshmi Dhar Bhatt (57) has acquired to learn to work. "It looks as hard as it is and I'm operating the app, which is very user-friendly."
Routala said, "The technique used is very simple."
Staying relevant is an age when the postman has discovered the way of posting in India, in order to deliver less mail. In urban areas, bio data can be posted in a post office and can be recharged to mobile SIM card.

After revenues from traditional products, India started offering post e-products. E-money order has been launched for the transfer of cash at the click of a button.
